Voting in Buur
Put a proposal to the owners and let them vote, with the number of votes that belongs to their apartment.
Buur is not live yet. This guide describes how it works at launch. Details in the app may still change.
With voting in Buur you put a proposal to the owners, such as choosing a quote or setting a house rule. Everyone can vote when it suits them, even if not everyone is available at the same time.
Starting a vote
Describe the proposal as clearly as possible: what is proposed, why, and what does it cost? Add documents that help, such as a quote. Set the date until which owners can vote.
How votes are counted
Buur counts votes using the number of votes the deed of division assigns to each apartment. That is why the apartments and votes must be entered correctly. One person casts the vote for each apartment.
Is a vote in Buur a formal decision?
That depends on your deed of division and the law. All powers that are not given to another body belong to the owners' meeting (article 5:125(1) of the Dutch Civil Code, BW). Decisions are taken by an absolute majority of the votes cast, unless the articles say otherwise (article 5:127(1) BW). Some decisions, such as amending the deed of division, require a larger majority (article 5:139(2) BW).
Whether a decision can also be taken outside a meeting, and on what conditions, is set out in your regulations and the law. Not sure? Use a vote in Buur to gauge the owners' views and record the decision formally at the owners' meeting.
Good to know
Meetings, the general meeting (ALV) and the calendar are coming to Buur later. Until then, you organise the meeting yourself.
