Getting Started / Setup

Inviting owners and assigning board roles

Invite the other owners to your VvE in Buur and give board members the right role.

Buur is not live yet. This guide describes how it works at launch. Details in the app may still change.

A VvE is something you do together. Once the apartments are in place, invite the other owners. That way everyone can read along, discuss and vote.

Inviting owners

You link each owner to their apartment and send an invitation by email. The owner opens the link in the email and joins your VvE's space. Does an apartment have more than one owner, for example a couple? You can add both. Each apartment's vote is cast by one person.

Not everyone responds straight away. You can see who has accepted the invitation and invite someone again.

Assigning board roles

Every owner is a member of the VvE by law (article 5:125(2) of the Dutch Civil Code, BW). A board member is appointed by the owners' meeting (article 5:131(2) BW). In Buur you give board members a board role, so they have extra options, such as inviting owners and keeping the Basis op orde checklist up to date.

Only give a board role in Buur to people who have actually been appointed to the board, or who help the board during the start-up phase until the meeting elects a board.

Changing roles

Does the board change, for example after a meeting? Update the roles so the right people have access.
